I have been a full time photographer since 1981. My professional career began at a wedding and portrait studio in High Wycombe and I then managed studios in Kings Lynn, Lincoln, Cambridge, Leeds, Derby, Nottingham and Luton. I have won a coveted national Kodak Portrait Award.
I opened my wedding and portrait photography studio in 1987 and in addition to photographing weddings and portraits, my work also included PR, business portraits, publicity shots and portfolios for models, actors and musicians. I was one of the first photographers to have a website, one of the first to make the full switch to digital in 1998 and also one of the first users of Photoshop, since 1992 (the first version for Windows). I have trained photographers in digital photography and Photoshop and currently teach courses in digital photography, Photoshop and digital painting at North Herts College, Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
I have photographed over 1000 weddings, my work taking me all over the country, from the Newcastle Upon Tyne to the South Coast, although my work is mostly in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex.
